Apparently I want a good cry or five or six today...

Right after I said something about it, Saiunkoku started giving me some mood whiplash with a turn toward darkness and intrigue. Not bad, but a bit disorienting.

So hoping for a corrective (and I like to have two series going at a time anyway), I went over to Crunchyroll and finally started on Natsume Yuujinchou. I disapprove of Crunchyroll's new apparent strategy of planting ads right in the good parts, but still. It was my second time seeing the first episode, and I have cried buckets both times.

Then, some time ago the Seven Seas translation of Ballad of a Shinigami v.1 fell into my hands, and I'd been meaning to read it if only to see what a light novel in translation even looks like. I'd call this one refreshingly earnest but a bit clumsy; I do suspect some clunky translation. But at any rate, finishing the first story in it also made me cry buckets.

Then later, somehow I found myself over at MangaReader reading Hourou Musuko; loving it, thinking I need to buy the US release, and, again, crying buckets.

That really ought to be enough for today...

(And I still need to write on my fanfic. Treize, I know your life is a shambles right now, but you're not allowed to make me cry. Really, you're not...)

Natsume makes me cry a lot. Because it's so sweet! And melancholy and yet hopeful and all that.
