Post-birthday
Aug. 28th, 2011 10:16 amSo I'm now 32.
Yesterday my Dad had a thing to go to in the old college town and so I took the opportunity for the trip up there. We had lunch at a restaurant I liked and failed to find an open post office to send off that box to the Internet Archive, but it's not time-sensitive. Barnes and Noble had nothing (I'm starting to think they deserve to be bumped off by the online places), but they dropped me off for awhile by myself downtown. I went to my old university library intending not to check anything out but ended up bringing home some Japanese literature (a Higuchi Ichiyo anthology and Night on the Galactic Railroad). The used music and video place had the Rurouni Kenshin Season 1 box, so Dad got that as his birthday present to me. And downtown there is where the good indie-movie theater is, and I saw Incendies---it is not for the faint of heart, but I really enjoyed it.
We didn't get home until like 10 pm; I was tired (enough that I'm skipping church today---still very nice to have a church where that's not considered a sin) but I had fun.
I had meant to buy myself something, too, but I keep going back and forth about what it should be or whether I really need it...
