Back, with silly images
May. 24th, 2011 08:36 pmWe're back from our trip; it was kind of a mini-vacation for me, got to play around in the hotel's swimming pool (hadn't been in a pool in years---I can't swim, but I do enjoy it). It's good to be back home, though.
Thought I'd post a couple of pictures,
The first one was a postcard I sent to my sister (and I was lazy and just took a picture of it with the digicam, so the quality isn't that great), and I wanted to wait until she got it to post it, but she told me she did, so here it is.

That's Soma from Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow, and exactly what the ghost soul does is let you pop your consciousness out of your body (leaving your body standing there half-slumped over and totally vulnerable), where it floats around as a harmless little white cloud which you can pilot around and reconnoiter---half a screen ahead at best. It's really not useful at all, although I do give it some points for "nifty" and a touch of "amusing." I really enjoyed doing the little cartoon.
Also (this one feels a bit more embarrassing to post), I'm still working my way through "The Artist's Way," and there are exercises that say "do this and post it in your work area/somewhere you can see it," and here are the two I have taped to the side of my computer now. I wrote the poem on the left, and rendered the words from the book on the right:

BTW, I put most of my flickr photos on "Creative Commons Attribution Sharealike" (so I just gave that poem away pretty much).
I also discovered that the June NaNoManGo snuck up on me. I think I should try it.
