Okay, I'll just say it...

I love my Keyhole TV gadtet that lets me watch raw Japanese television (even if I understand very little as yet), however...

I really don't get why the Japanese apparently consider a Collectible Card Game an especially good basis for a television show, with the characters getting into fights actually summoning god-knows-what from cards and tallying their health points onscreen and stuff. I think Yu-Gi-Oh started it, but I swear like half the anime I see is that stuff.

(Mind I did love the Juvenile Orion manga, but it had the decency not to call attention to the fact; I wouldn't have known it was about a CCG without the endnotes.)
