More Castlevania trivialities
Mar. 1st, 2010 06:31 pmWorking on the Curse of Darkness watchthrough, we've got Dracula's Castle now, and the plot is still IMO crap. We just about killed Trevor in a way that pissed me off---and being pissed off by a story event isn't necessarily bad, but since I long ago transcended being angry at Isaac in favor of being angry at the writers, yeah. On the upside, Hector finally seems to have a motivation more heroic than revenge, although it's too little too late. And the writing is still ridiculously clunky; it's worse when Julia is in a scene, I think.
I also actually tried Dracula X Chronicles (yay facing my fears), and I even got through Stage 1 (the lower path) without dying. It was a close shave with the sea serpent, but I made it. Then 2' killed me; once in the water, once against a Final Guard, and twice against the Werewolf. For a very first play, I imagine that's pretty respectable. This probably means I'm going entirely the wrong direction to unlock Symphony, but no rush there. Maybe I'll work on my Saturn Symphony game later (coming up to the moment of truth on that bat sonar...)
