I hate summer and it's barely even spring yet

I'm in the US lower midwest, and this is the second time this month that the temperature has spiked into the upper 80s/lower 90s F. It's due to happen again later this week, too. And we need to get our air conditioner worked on.

I asked the internet what the climate is like in Whitehorse, Yukon. It sounded lovely.

I really seriously hate hot weather, to the point that if I felt able to relocate somewhere colder, I would. In the SCA, summer is the big season for outdoor events and wars, but my own policy is "A/C or I'm not going."

Here in Australia, we have winter as our season as it's just too hot otherwise. But sleeping in a tent in the middle of winter when it's hitting a few degrees outside is a whole other thing. I see photos of Europeans with their beds and one little blanket right on the ground and saying how lovely the warm, balmy nights are, and we need extra layers and thick mattresses and extra blankets and tent liners and floors. It really adds to the what we need to take pile.

Autumn would be the best time, really. Warm days and cool nights :)

I think my kingdom is kind of trying to move our annual war from summer to autumn, but traditions die hard.
