Tired but happy

Today we went out to my old college town to finally get eye exams and new glasses, so I now have brand new scratch-free spectacles! (And the guy at the EyeMart had an idea as to what caused the unprecedented scratch-proneness of the previous pair: anti-glare coating that apparently is very scratchable and that Wal-Mart likes to use as a matter of course.) Neither Mom nor I could find anything we liked in the womens' frames---after a reminder what eighties glasses looked like I respect the move to smaller frames, but seriously, there's a point of diminishing returns and utility issues; this is my field of vision we're talking about. I also concluded that nothing noticeably angular at the outer-top corners suited me. But anyway, it's not the first time I've bought from the men's frames section (thankfully men's frames have gotten less "manly;" the posters above the racks even feature some sexy prettyboys), and I found a nice ovular pair in an antique bronze color that I think have a mature, wise, and quite feminine-compatible look.
I also picked up the DVD of Ponyo (brand new Miyazaki movie I haven't seen yet!), and was a brat in my favorite game store: I got my own copy of Williams Pinball for PSP, and also Final Fantasy X, which I have no idea when I'll actually manage to play, but I felt like I wanted to have it... Those stores also have a few arcade machines apiece, including pinball in that location, so I can now say I've at least laid eyes on a real-life High Speed table. (I lacked the time or presence of mind to try playing it, though.) Also at Hastings picked up a bunch of manga off the outdoor "we won't be out much if you steal this" rack; at 99 cents finally bit on Buso Renkin (after loving Rurouni Kenshin, although when I finally got hold of the vaunted Revenge Arc I decided it was pretty whack)---after a casual reading this evening, my sense of it so far is that there's a lot of potential...... which it can't be arsed to live up to because it's in too much of a hurry to draw the next splash panel. But anyway, for $1.50 or less, I'm not out much if the things I picked up aren't that good... Plus they had "Backlash" by Susan Faludi out there, so I got that.
But I got home pretty exhausted, so I think I will just allow the trip to displace the things I would otherwise have intended to do today (the blog project that's on a filter, and oh god I don't even want to think about Nest of Evil part five right now...) and crash.
