My DIY Bookscanner
Feb. 9th, 2012 03:10 pmI did build my DIY bookscanner. Details are posted on the diybookscanner.org forum. I got perhaps a bit too into it in the last week or so, and it took a good bit of perfectionistic fussing before I finally just relaxed into the conclusion that I'm shooting for "reading copy" here, and for that, I think it actually works quite well.
So far I'm just posting my crazy haul of Psychic Force comics over on
last_impact, but if I ever do get back into scanning for Project Gutenberg or Internet Archive, I daresay this will make it more efficient.
I did let it tempt me into looking at how far digital point-and-shoot cameras have come since I got my 8-Megapixel Elph, tho. Yeah, something went on the wishlist...
(Must get back to writing...)
