Jan. 31st, 2012 08:06 pmThey had a post today that grabbed me enough I wanted to share it.
Copying is not theft... But Censorship Is.
In a sensible world, the internet would mean we didn't all have to personally hoard the media we like, but as it stands, yeah, it might be a good idea...
Perhaps relatedly, I also recently discovered DIYbookscanner.org and it's very neat. I'm not handy enough for the more complicated rigs, but I want to try the low-budget option, and I have my own idea for one based on an acrylic box-style picture frame. I actually went out to get a couple of said frames to experiment on today, but work is at a standstill until tomorrow morning (because it got dark and I don't want to try to drill acrylic in the house).
