Reading, possible tweeting?

I'm warming up to the idea of getting a twitter. I'm not sure what this means.

I wanted to read a book and thereby attack the ridiculous number of them lodged on my shelves for someday. I quickly decided that "Mike Nelson's Death Rat" was parochial and dull (it was purchased long ago, before that sliver of coming-of-age when you realize that buying novels by someone whose work you like in other media is a good recipe for unpleasant disillusionment), and found out that that old copy of "Mistress Masham's Repose" had a piece of a page missing, so I threw it away. (I do hate throwing books away, but if the text isn't intact...) For my third try, I've barely started on "The Great Gatsby."

Lack of translations, lousy translations.

As much trouble as my opinions on copyright have gotten me into if expressed in mixed company, I enjoy following QuestionCopyright.org, and about a week ago they posted this: A Tale of Two Authors; Why Translations Happen, or Don't.

I just had to throw in my two cents there. In case you couldn't guess, that's me ranting about Simone de Beauvoir and Riyoko Ikeda.
